Another day, another dollar. The weekends are way too short and right now, too hot! We didn't do much this weekend as it is still over 100 each day and we can't take our little man out in that. Chris has an interview next week so I decided to go to my mom's Friday night since we were leaving early Saturday morning to go to the Jackson outlets anyway. The outlets are seriously disappointing besides Coach and Osh Kosh. I was told to stop wearing a diaper bag earlier this year due to my back issues and I switched to a coach purse that I love. My mom wanted to get me a new purse for my birthday so she got me a satchel and next time I go I think I am going to get the one that I love in a fall/winter color. That might be a bit ridiculous and while I really like the one my mom got me I don't think it is going to be super practical right now since I can't sling it over my shoulder.
Osh Kosh is my downfall, I love that store and their clothes fit Jax better than any other brand. Their shortalls were a whopping 5.59 so I grabbed a few pairs in 18 months that he can wear when we are in Disney and then two pairs in 24 months for next summer. The next time I am down there I should just grab each color they have in 24 months for next year, let's face it the kid isn't going to be a giant so we should be good. Other than that the deals royally sucked.
In other health news Jax and I had blood work done a few weeks ago. His was the nine month CBC/lead screen and mine was to retest my vitamin levels. Both came back a-ok! So no more iron pills for me thank god, those suckers killed my stomach.
I keep waiting to get Jax's pictures done until he has a bruiseless face but I am realizing that is just not going to happen! The bruise he got at daycare this week started to fade this weekend when he crawled full speed right into the bottom of a chair. Yep, new bruise on the forehead so I think we will be taking him on Sunday as long as he is in a decent mood which is questionable with teething.

The heat index is 127
It feels like a frigging sauna outside. I truthfully can not remember it ever being this hot out, the news said it gets this hot every 10-15 years. Thank god it is supposed to cool off tomorrow night so we can go to the beach on Sunday. I thought it would be dead in the office today but no dice. Who in their right mind would think that today was a good day to come into the office? Unless they were all thinking it would be dead in here so they would get in and out. Oh, and the jeans. Why are my co-workers all wearing jeans? I know its fun to have casual day and all but I am in a light dress. There is no way I am sweating my ass off just so I can say that I was casual today.
Jax has become a total and complete kamikaze child. We got our second incident report yesterday from daycare stating he tried to pull himself up on a bookshelf and fell with his head hitting the bookshelf a few times on the way down. Nice. Then he hit his head two more times last night at home and once this morning. He tries to pull himself up on the oddest things, no soft couches for him! Nope, the kitchen table and chairs are his favorites.
Chris has an interview next week and is going to be working on his portfolio all weekend so Jax and I are off to grandma's for the next two days. My mom and I are going shopping for my birthday tomorrow so I can pick a few things out while my dad and Jax hang out. It's a shame it is going to be too hot to even go swimming tomorrow. Oh well, hopefully it will be much cooler for my birthday next weekend.

Snug and Dry
I can't believe I forgot to post about the damn Snug and Dry diapers! About a month ago Jax developed a nasty diaper rash that I couldn't clear even using the homemade concoction of triple paste, antifungal lotion, cortisone, and Mylanta. We even went to urgent care for it! Then one day I pulled a diaper out of the bin and it felt like straight up sandpaper. I continue pulling the diapers out and some were clearly worse than others but none of them felt as soft as they usually do. The worst ones almost felt like they replaced the absorbent beads with sand. I saved a few to send to Huggies and tossed about three quarters of a case. Now we have used these before so I am sure it was just a defect with that lot but still! I ran out that day and grabbed some Target diapers as I have heard good things about them and his rash cleared right up. Poor little man. I did order a case of Little Movers off of amazon and I checked them as soon as they came in and they were fine. Lesson learned!
I understand that bad lots happen but I still have not heard back yet from Huggies, it has been almost two weeks now. I was sent an email saying they are busy but that is the only response I have received so far. I think I am going to call them again when I get home. I would switch back to Pampers but those suckers leak now that he is moving and grooving.

7/19/11
The topic of today's post is going to be my birthday and what I want. What I really want is a Keurig but my mom said that is not a birthday present since Chris can use it also. Ok, fine but I was really psyched about it. Whatevs, I was. I even had the sugar free syrups I wanted picked out. Yes, I could order one today on amazon and probably will soon but it is always more fun when it is a present.
So back to what I should ask for. I honestly have no idea. I will need new clothes for fall since I haven't been this size in years but there isn't a whole lot out yet. I am also a half of a shoe size smaller so maybe I will go pick out some boots. I think I was so excited for the stupid Keurig that nothing else that I think of coming close in my head. I do want a bottle of Clinique's Dark Spot Corrector but seriously? That is a sillier present than the coffee maker. Maybe a new purse will catch my eye at the outlets this weekend but I end up with a purse for every holiday, not that it's a bad thing but still I want something different this year.

So that is my dilemma for the day. Tough life, huh?

Dear A Feast for Crows,
I am still reading you! If I wasn't dying to read the next book which I have seen good reviews for I would have given up completely by now. Please get better soon, thanks.

9 months
Stats:
Height-28.25 inches
Weight- 21 lbs 2 oz
My little man went from the 10th percentile in height to the 47th! Holy growth spurt batman. He is now pretty much average for everything which is nice that his weight is starting to balance with his height. Oh big news on that- he has now slimmed enough that he can get his feet into his mouth, much to his amusement.
He now has 4 teeth! The top two and the bottom two, the bottom ones were a pain on him coming in but we didn't even realize he was teething the top ones until he stuck my finger into his mouth one day. Look mom, I have two more teeth. You idiots didn't even realize it.
We are rolling, army crawling, babbling, and trying to walk on our own. I love watching him pull himself up on Chris when we hang out in bed on the weekends. He's up, oh he flung himself onto the mattress again. He thinks it is a hysterical game until we get out into the living room and he tries to do it onto the couch and then plops onto the floor. I am waiting for the day when he nails his head on the coffee table. It's bound to happen.
Food, well Jax is clearly related to us as he loves food. I am determined, well as much as I can be for him to like all sorts of foods. We grew up on pretty bland food because my siblings revolted against all flavors and it wasn't until I met Chris that I started branching out. His recent favorites are guacamole, cumin seasoned beef(won't eat hamburger meat), cantaloupe, watermelon, hates eggs and has warmed up to peaches. His is still getting periodic rashes so we are sticking to the one new thing per week to make sure it is all environmental and nothing food allergy related. I was sort of worried about his eating because he just wasn't getting anything but purees and would gag on solids and then one day he was off to the races. He also never understood the sippy cup but took to a straw in minute. In a pinch we have put formula into his cup and he slurped it up without thinking twice. The only problem was that he couldn't drink it quick enough.
I got an invite for Google+ and I started setting that up. I think I will eventually can facebook in favor for this. I could have both but let's not get crazy here. I like the circles concept and that you can specify which circle you want to post photos and posts to. I used to feel like I had to friend everyone who sent me a request through facebook and now looking at it I probably haven't talked to half of them in 15 years so I am going to limit to Google+ to people I actually talk to whether it be online or in person.
Gotta run, I think with me going to Google+ I will remember to blog more!

7 months
I don't have stats or pictures yet! I am slacking big time.
This month wasn't an interesting as the past few months. One quick hospital visit for wheezing and an ear infection but other than that Jax has been doing really well. We are still nebulizing him three to four times a day and I am so looking forward to the day that he will start taking his albuterol via an inhaler if this doesn't go away. I had a long talk with his pediatrician last Friday that put me at ease about his whole breathing issue. Well the first thing I didn't know was that an ear infection can cause wheezing. Jax started wheezing pretty bad again last Wednesday but there was nothing else wrong so my first thought was this really is asthma and not reactive airway disease. Bummer. The kid had no fever, wasn't pulling at his ear, nothing but at least now I will know if he is wheezing for no reason it is probably an ear infection. He also told me that the earlier in life they have wheezing the more likely that they will grow out of it so time will tell but he reassured me that as soon as we can get him old enough for more meds there are a ton of preventive things out there for him to take.
He also grew 3/4 of an inch in two weeks at the beginning of April. :fist pump: I knew he would grow taller one of these months. He didn't really gain anything at all but he wasn't eating much with the parainfluenza so I wasn't surprised about that plus once you see his cheeks you will know if he misses a few ounces here and there its not a big deal. Speaking of fat rolls, you can actually see his knees. It is so cute. There is still a huge fat roll over his wrist but I am sure we will get a glance at them one of these months. He still isn't rolling from back to tummy but he rolls from side to side trying to propel his chunky but over. Jax is all star pro at sitting unassisted and playing with toys. I can walk out of the room at this point and not worry about him falling over which is fun. He is so much more portable now. I love having him sit in a high chair when we go out to eat, he is hysterical. Actually I love all of it, it is so much fun!
We took our first family trip to the beach this weekend and I forgot my memory card for my camera. DUH! I ran to a few stores and ended up with a disposable and it is really hard to find anywhere around me that develops those anymore but I will continue my quest tonight because I am sure there are some adorable pictures on there. He seemed to like the sand and was on a quest to eat it of course. We laid on the beach for an hour or so and then shopped on the boardwalk and went to the outlets. Our summers always seem to fill up so this year Chris and I are going through our calendar and marking off days we are going and that will be the end of it so it won't be like every other year and we wonder where our summer went in September.
I am currently on my third round of steroids, antibiotics, and a new allergy medicine. This spring has already been a ever living loving disaster where my allergies are concerned. I just can't clear out. It's annoying, if this doesn't work then they are sending me to an allergist. In birth control news my IUD is fantastic, my period finally stopped and never started back up. Yay! I am still having an iron issue so I need to run in for blood work again next week to see where we are at. My little OCD/anxiety issue has now also calmed down between going off of the pill and starting a low dose med. It is so nice to have your mind not running a million miles an hour worrying about bad things. Not counting is nice too plus my bitchiness level has gone way down so I am sure everyone around me is thankful that I sought out some help.
Back to work! Have a good day!
